A New Peak for the Valley

Dayton’s growing craft beer scene now boasts more than 30 breweries in and around Montgomery County. While the craft brewing industry as a whole is known for its cooperative nature, the Dayton area goes above and beyond even that standard. The tight-knit breweries banded together a few years ago to create the Dayton Ale Trail, Ohio’s only regional brewery passport 100% organized and administered by the breweries themselves. The group has also put together fundraising events to support communities devastated by the 2019 tornadoes that ravaged the area.

Now, in further solidarity, Dayton area breweries will launch the inaugural Miami Valley Craft Beer Week this Saturday, Sept. 10 with the coordinated tapping of So Original IPA at all participating breweries. Unique versions of the collaboration beer were brewed at Bock Family Brewing, Branch & Bone Artisan Ales, Bushrod Brew Works, Hairless Hare Brewery, Lock 27 Brewing, Southern Ohio Brewing and Star City Brewing using ingredients sponsored by Brewers Supply Group and Imperial Yeast.

Throughout the week, the participating breweries will hold a variety of events in their taprooms, including special beer releases, food and beer pairings, games and more.
