More than 40 Ohio breweries are gearing up to celebrate Ohio On Tap Week (May 10-19, 2024) with a special statewide collaboration brew. From the Heart: Volume 4 is a fundraising beer to benefit the Ohio Craft Brewers Association, the non-profit trade organization working to promote and protect the state’s craft beer industry.
The From the Heart fundraiser was made possible through the generous support of OCBA allied business members Blue Label Packaging, The Country Malt Group/Great Western Malting, Crosby Hops/Hop Revolution, Hankscraft/AJS and Lemon Grenade Creative who donated ingredients and packaging materials for the project.
Breweries participating in the collaboration purchased the donated ingredients from the Ohio Craft Brewers Association and brewed a variation on an IPA recipe developed by Mike Pelechaty of Masthead Brewing Co. and Geoff Fischer of the Country Malt Group. The name “From the Heart” – coined by Krista Alvarado of 4KD Crick Brewery in Defiance – was chosen in 2021 from dozens of suggestions by our members.
The Ohio Craft Brewers Association counts nearly three-quarters of Ohio’s 428 independently-owned craft breweries among its membership. The organization provides a wide range of member services, including legislative advocacy at the Ohio Statehouse, brewery marketing through programs like the Ohio On Tap passport app, technical and educational conferences and seminars, and community-building connections between breweries and the businesses that support the industry.
From the Heart will be available on draft at participating brewery taprooms starting in mid May 2024. Please check the participating brewery’s website/social media to verify when From the Heart will be on tap. Breweries also have the option to package From the Heart in cans and sell it from their taprooms or in distribution to stores around the state. Check with your favorite brewery in the list below to see if they plan to package this year’s collaboration beer.
