Cellar Person/Assistant Brewer

Duties include:

  • Assisting head brewer with brewing related issues and projects
  • Receiving raw ingredients
  • Milling
  • Basic brewhouse operation
  • Quality assurance
  • Cellar work, including beer transfer and carbonation
  • Operating keg washer
  • Cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance of brewhouse equipment, draft lines, fermenters, brites, and process plumbing
  • Proper handling of chemicals required for cleaning and sanitizing equipment
  • Understanding and practicing all internal safety standards
  • Preparing orders for distribution
  • Representing Butcher and the Brewer at on/off-site beer events, including set-up/breakdown



  • Passion for all things craft beer
  • Team player, ability to work with the head brewer to further company goals
  • 1-2 years brewery experience preferred with working knowledge of brewing process
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, time management, troubleshooting, and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask effectively
  • Understanding of OSHA and industry safety standards
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and hard work
  • Physical capability of regularly lifting up to 55lbs to shoulder height and maneuvering 165lbs. Comfortable working at heights, in cramped spaces, awkward positions, and in hot or cold environments for an extended period of time.
