Carillon Historical Park celebrates how Dayton, OH changed the world. The Gem City is home to the airplane, the automobile self-starter, the cash register, the first internationally acclaimed African American poet, the National Football League’s inaugural game, and so much more. Description:

This position supports the Head and/or Assistant Brewer with brewing operations. Duties may include: assisting with brewing, packaging, cleaning, cellaring, and the prep work for upcoming brew days. The ideal candidate will have a passion for craft beer, a rudimentary understanding of the brewing process, an interest in history, and dedication to quality. This is an entry level, part-time to full-time, hourly position.

Qualification Requirements:

  • High school diploma and 21+ years of age.
  • Prior experience or education is preferred.
  • Available for various shifts, including weekends.
  • Able to work on a flexible schedule as production needs dictate.

General Responsibilities:

  • Clean brewing kettles, fermentation vessels, packaging equipment, and kegs.
  • Clean and maintain all brewing areas and equipment.
  • Assist with the complete brewing process from milling through packaging as required.
  • Able to work alone or with others as schedules and staffing allow.
  • Follow brewing procedures to help produce consistent finished beer of the
    highest quality.
  • Update management on equipment, and inventory status and needs.
  • Record quality data as directed in a timely manner.
  • Participate in brewery activities and events.
  • Be a promotional spokesman for the company.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simply instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of internet software.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Line of Communication and Accountability:

This position reports to the Bar Supervisor.

Physical Requirements of the Job:

  • Able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Able to stand and work for long hours.
  • Able to complete a variety of heavy labor tasks including the splitting & hauling of wood.
