Brewery Sales Representative

The Brewery Representative is an ambassador of Columbus Brewing Company and the primary source CBC brand engagement with accounts and consumers within their territory. Building and maintaining impactful and positive sales relationships with wholesalers, retailers, and consumers is vital to the success of this role.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Pounding the pavement in pursuit of maintaining current relationships, while also driving new business to increase volume, distribution, and market share within assigned territory
  • Executing On and Off Premise promotions to generate brand awareness and consumer sampling as well as support new & existing distribution at accounts
  • Securing volume enhancing opportunities in the market via feature pricing, sponsorships, displays, improved shelf positioning, pack-out, and more
  • Using sales and distribution metrics to track weekly progress in relation to goals
  • Working directly with distributors to ensure strong execution in the market
  • Showing in-depth understanding of local trade and areas of improvement/opportunity
  • Representing CBC at special events and festivals in the territory
  • Exhibiting creativity and new ideas to excite retailers and consumers at CBC events and when participating in regional festivals
  • Achieving agreed upon Trimester goals and objectives that roll into the CBC Annual Business Plan (ABP)
  • Reporting daily/weekly to Regional Sales Manager on status, progress, and issues related to the market or distributor
  • Completing necessary administrative reporting on a timely basis (ie. Weekly Call Reports, NDLs, Promo Trackers, Expense Budget, etc.)
  • Constantly striving for “preferred supplier status” by contributing to the relentless growth and development of CBC and the distributor’s overall business
  • Participating in beer trainings and offering CBC education as needed across both retailers and distributor staff
  • Updating distributor and CBC management weekly on retail account progress
  • Understanding and using VIP to identify, plan and support future action in market
  • Ensuring proper merchandising of product and point-of-sale materials within area and according to CBC brand standards
  • Merchandising and service accounts according to brand standards including our Q/A measures – clean POS, rotate stock, check code dates, packing repair/replacement
  • Travelling to company meetings; participating in market blitzes in other territories and working with members of the CBC team to execute/achieve the overall company sales plan
  • Achieving and/or maintaining CBC market and quality standards in territory
  • Performing other duties as assigned

YOU

  • Must be 21 or over
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Marketing required or any combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
  • Prior experience in beer/wine sales position is recommended but not necessary
  • Self-Starter, Self-Motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Strong oral communication to convey information effectively
  • Dynamic public speaking and presentation skills
  • Ability to work both individually and within a team environment
  • Excellent time management, persuasion, organization, coordination, listening and social perceptiveness skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite of programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must have clean driving record, your own reliable transportation and have documentation showing you are legally able to drive
  • Ability to work flexible schedule (nights, weekends & holidays)
  • Must currently reside in designated territory
