BREWER POSITION
Combustion Brewery & Taproom is an established brewery with locations in Pickerington, OH and the
Clintonville neighborhood of Columbus, OH. We are looking for a brewer who is passionate about craft
beer and the craft beer industry to help us continue to carry out our mission which is to deliver the
freshest & highest quality craft beer; to offer excellent service; and to provide a fun and clean environment
for our staff and guests. The Pickerington Brewery features a 10-barrel brewhouse, 7 – 10 bbl fermenters
and 3 20bbl fermenters, along with 7 – 10 bbl serving tanks. Our Clintonville brewery features a 7-barrel
brewhouse with 6 – 7bbl fermentation tanks and 1 – 7bbl brite. Our focus is on the Taproom, offering draft
as well as 16oz 4-pack sales from our Taproom only with no distribution. We strive to keep 16-20 beers
on draft at all times to meet the demands of every craft beer and cider drinker; always serving products
that meet our high quality standards. You will collaborate, innovate, and work alongside a team of
experienced, skilled, passionate brewers that hold one another to a high standard. This is a great
opportunity for a self-motivated brewer who would like to join a growing brewery with an established
brand.
Essential Duties:
Brewery Operations: Ability to perform, with skill and knowledge, all essential brewery operations. This
is including but not limited to: brewing, beer transfer, tank CIP, operation of mill and auger,
prep/clean/sanitize hoses, monitor fermentations, yeast care and management, assist in production
planning, record keeping, carbonation testing, beer analysis, quality control, ect.
Maintain brew logs/records: Accurately document brews, take Inventory, tank status reporting
(fermentation temps/progress), keg inventory, etc.
Maintain facilities and equipment: Prep/wash kegs, fill kegs, clean draft lines, mechanically minded
with ability to troubleshoot/repair equipment when needed, tend to any regular maintenance (seals on
pumps, etc), maintain a sparkling clean brewery/facility, etc.
Ensure availability of fresh beer: Fill kegs, transfer beer to serving tanks, monitor beer inventory to
ensure taproom availability.
Canning Program: Experience and knowledge of packaging operations.
Special Events: Attend and plan for beer festivals and offer brewery tours/tastings as needed.
Transfer Beer and Work between locations: Based on taproom demand and beer supply, load and
deliver beer and cider as needed between locations. Workload between locations will demand that work
be performed at either location. Some weekend work will be required.
You Are:

● Passionate and knowledgeable about craft beer and the craft beer industry.

● Highly organized and can manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
● Physically capable of working on your feet for 8+ hours and able to lift up to 165 lbs
● Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office and have general computer skills
● Able to pass a background check.

● 2+ years experience in a brewery.

● Passion for craft beer and the ability to discuss distinctive characteristics of our beers such as
style, flavor profiles, history, etc.
Job Title: Brewer
● Reports to: Head Brewer/Production Manager & Brewmaster
● Pay to commensurate with experience
● This is a 40+ hrs/week hourly position
● The position start date is ASAP
● 10 days PTO annually
● 7 Paid Holidays
● Simple IRA: Employer matching contribution 3% contribution, eligible after 1 year of employment
