Accounting Associate

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions and Duties

  • Handle all A/P functions:  including three-way match, invoice entry, check or ACH payments and monitoring of A/P aging
  • Monitor and maintain contract manufacturing invoicing, transactions and reporting
  • Handle all A/R functions:  incoming check or ACH payments, cash application and monitoring of A/R aging
  • Accrue, review and process sales & use taxes
  • Obtain W-9’s and process 1099’s as needed
  • Review and process distributor invoices and bill backs
  • Monitor and record transactions for petty cash account
  • Assist with journal entries and account reconciliations as needed
  • Maintaining alcohol licenses/permits (salesperson, restaurant, liquor, states, etc.)
  • Responsible for maintaining Accounting files
  • Provide administrative support and analysis as needed
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Education
Associate degree in business required; concentration in Accounting or Finance preferred

Work Experience
Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of general accounting concepts (general ledger, journal entries, A/P, A/R, etc.)
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay organized
  • High level of attention to detail and excellent follow-through
  • Self-motivated individual who works well in a team environment
  • Prior experience with ERP systems
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Computer savvy and proficient with Microsoft Office programs
