Brewpub Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions and Duties

Brewpub Operations

  • Updates and reads the manager log every shift
  • Maintains daily side work charts
  • Responsible for maintaining all FOH service standards during their shift, including host staff, the bar, and the service staff
  • Insures that all procedures concerning food safety and serving alcohol responsibly are followed
  • Maintains an active presence on the floor during their designated shift, touching tables, maintaining service standards, and following up on service issues
  • Ensures the sanitation, maintenance and organization of the restaurant
  • Assists with planned events and promotions in conjunction with other restaurant managers and events personnel
  • Provides and maintains a safe and secure working environment
  • Ensures we have established pars and carry a responsible amount of product and merchandise
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned

Training & Coaching

  • Responsible for hiring, scheduling, training, development and discipline of the Brew Pub staff; including maintaining a formalized training program
  • Offers ongoing education to the staff about beer, food and table-side service
  • Conducts evaluations bi-annually with the Brew Pub staff
  • Conducts interviews for Brew Pub staff
  • Conducts daily Q-Time and tiered meetings with staff

Reporting & Controls

  • Attends and participates in the weekly manager meeting
  • Accurately completes paperwork pertaining to labor and necessary documentation for accounting
  • Achieve or exceed financial goals and proactively correct shortcomings
  • Counts and balances safe and petty cash daily
  • Audits labor at the end of each shift to make sure everyone is properly clocked in and out
  • Audits labor on Monday to ensure an accurate records for payroll

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Education
Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred

Work Experience

  • Minimum of three to five years of experience in the restaurant/hospitality industry
  • Prior front of house management experience strongly preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Prior service experience required in a high volume environment
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Dedication to ensuring excellent service and to seeing issues through to resolution
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including nights and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understands and utilizes Appreciative Inquiry
  • Understands Lean principles with a focus on processes
  • Strong knowledge of the Craft Beer industry
