Backup Operator – Canning

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions and Duties

  • Operate our can filler within parameters set by quality control and production
  • Identify all product being packaged
  • Operate CIP (clean-in-place) equipment to ensure cleanliness of machinery
  • General cleanliness of packaging area
  • Set up and tear down packaging equipment
  • Reporting of production on a daily basis
  • Facilitating packaging team in productive manor
  • Run can line once per week to stay familiar with current standard operating procedures
  • Troubleshoot machinery malfunctions
  • Light preventative maintenance to machinery
  • Help maintain 5s/ lean manufacturing practices
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Work Experience
At least 1 year working experience in a manufacturing setting preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to function in team environment
  • Willingness to stay productive during downtimes
  • Be proficient in all stations of the packaging line
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Ability to show leadership through example
  • Ability to multi-task and oversee many machines at once
  • Ability to record accurate data
  • Willingness to work flexible and extended hours, as needed (including weekends)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tow motor certification
