We are currently hiring a Sr. Packaging Project Manager in Cincinnati, Ohio

The Senior Packaging Project Manager identifies, evaluates, develops, designs, and implements brewery improvements, expansion projects, bottling/canning and packaging systems optimization, process changes, and new technologies to achieve increased productivity, enhanced manufacturing/brewery flexibility and capacity, improved product quality, safer operations, and ensures environmental compliance. This position may also be called on to support possible brewery acquisitions, new product development, and long-range capacity planning.

What You’ll Brew:

  • Provide overall project management on multi-million-dollar capital projects primarily strategic initiatives with a primary focus on packaging equipment and automated material handling systems.
  • Responsible for scope definition, capital cost estimates, operating cost savings development, investment justification, system design, cost value analysis, equipment design specifications, development of engineering design specifications, and supervision/management of outside consulting engineering firms and contractors.
  • Interface with Brewery managers and operating personnel to provide hands-on situational troubleshooting expertise as well as identification, investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of new and innovative projects, processes, or equipment to achieve operating cost reductions, capacity expansions, manufacturing flexibility improvement opportunities, improved product quality, and governmental compliance.
  • Prepares capital cost estimates and determines applicable cost savings, financial feasibility, capital risk and ROI/NPV for new equipment, construction, and modification to existing operations and systems.

What Ingredients You’ll Bring:

  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Engineering Degree required (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical)
    • 10+ years of progressive engineering project management experience in beer, food, beverage, or consumer products with a mix of brewery/plant engineering and corporate engineering exposure.
    • Significant practical experience specifying, installing, and starting up automated packaging lines and/or material handling systems.
    • Demonstrated experience with liquid process systems as it relates to filling equipment and product supply
    • Operations/Plant/Brewery Management experience
    • Astute project management skills and experience
    • Lean manufacturing experience
    • Demonstrated packaging equipment/process troubleshooting skills
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Masters’ or MBA, PMP Certification
    • Mix of packaging, processing, and utilities (steam, power distribution) experience a plus.
    • Knowledge of packaging automation and line controls
    • Knowledge of beverage packaging materials including cans, glass bottles, labels, corrugated, and paperboard packaging.
