March First Celebrates a Fifth

Cheers to five years of beers from March First Brewing! And what a five years it has been: since they opened the doors of their brewery, cidery and distillery in Cincinnati, March First has grown impressively. It started with an expansion of their cozy initial taproom into a large adjoining space with indoor and outdoor seating options. In 2019, the brewery bought Middletown’s FigLeaf Brewing to enhance their brewing capacity and grow that brewery’s existing brand. In 2020, March First took over Woodburn Brewing, a linchpin location in a neighborhood close to downtown Cincinnati. The brewery’s spirits arm – Cincinnati Distilling – is currently building a standalone distillery as part of a development project in downtown Milford.

Five Fests to Commemorate Five Years

To celebrate five years in business – and the breadth of beverages they’ve put out over those years – the original March First location in Sycamore Township will host a series of five mini festivals starting this Friday, Feb. 25 and culminating with the brewery’s anniversary party on March 1. Craft spirits, ciders, seltzers and stouts each get a daylong celebration with special releases and unique tastings each day. The theme is tied together on Tuesday, March 1 with a bourbon release that was cask finished in Baltic porter aging barrels.
