CENTRAL 

Cheers to five years of beers from Sideswipe Brewing! The anniversary party on Saturday, Jan. 19 will feature four new beers on draft – Rye If You Want To golden rye ale, Arcade super pale ale, Pixelated Moon black IPA and Cloudy With a Chance of CheBerry fruited Hefeweizen – along with two can-only exclusives: Pineapple Upside Down kettle sour and Imperial Chocolate Porter. The party will also serve as a sneak peek of the new Arcade Super Awesome space adjacent to the brewery’s west Columbus taproom. Endeavor Brewing to release cans of Latin Lager, Hefeweizen and IPA – all with new names – on Thursday, Jan. 24.

Grove City Brewing posted a new episode of Trevor’s Brew Diaries, talking about their best-selling beer, Beulah Blonde.

Ill Mannered’s new NE super pale ale, Pandora’s Juice Box, now on tap (along with mango and passionfruit variants).

GREATER CLEVELAND 

If you’ve ever seen our Drink Beer Made Here shirts and thought “I wonder where I can get one of those,” have we got some good news for you! Cleveland Winter Beerfest is happening Jan. 25-26 at the Huntington Convention Center in downtown Cleveland and we will be there with all kinds of Drink Beer Made Here merch. Strong, intensely-flavored dark beers are the rule, not the exception, from Hoppin’ Frog Brewery. Their latest big beer is Plum Tuckered Out Double Double Porter, a hefty dark ale infused with plums and weighing in at a mighty 16.8% ABV. The beer was tapped on Thursday and is available on draft at the brewery tasting room in Akron and in a limited run of 12-ounce bottles. As Ohio attempts to buffer itself against Winter Storm Harper this weekend, Earnest Brew Works has just the brew to complement a the bitter cold and driving snow. Findlay Brewing Company released Hop Sesh – a high IBU session IPA – this past week.

Fans of German-style beers will find a traditional Kölsch on tap at Bowling Green Beer Works.

SOUTHEAST

Craft breweries regularly tap into the history of their local communities for inspiration. New from the Portsmouth Brewing Company is Bernie G, a Dortmunder lager named for Bernard Glockner, the founder of the six generation Glockner auto business dynasty in and around Portsmouth. This balanced lager is available on draft at the newly renovated Portsmouth Brewing taproom as well as in six-packs throughout the brewery’s distribution footprint.

Limited tickets remaining for Sixth Sense Brewing’s homebrew class on Saturday, Jan. 19 at the brewery in Jackson.

SOUTHWEST

A belated cheers to four years of beers from DogBerry Brewing! Last weekend’s festivities were hampered slightly by the blast of winter weather that blew through the area, but fret not: a limited number of DogAvon barrel-aged barleywine bottles are still available at the brewery in West Chester. The 2017 vintage of DogAvon was aged in cabernet and pinot noir barrels for 9 months before being blended and bottled for release at the anniversary party. Cheers to five years of beers from Warped Wing Brewing Company in Dayton! The celebration kicks off at noon on Saturday, Jan. 19 with the bottle release of three Baltic Argonaut barrel-aged variants: port wine, rye whiskey and Tennesee whiskey.
