There’s a little something for everyone here, starting with the can release of Lil Champ hazy IPA, brewed with Citra, Amarillo and Ella hops. Two beers will get the limited edition 500 mL bottle treatment: Sticky Wicket barleywine and Poor Life Decisions, a bourbon barrel aged imperial stout. Three draft-only releases will also be tapped for the first time Saturday: Hazemaster 2000 hazy pineapple double IPA, Stranger Things dark sour ale with tart cherries and Reasonable Parameters session IPA brewed with Samba hops. GREATER CLEVELAND

Masthead Brewing has built a rock solid reputation over the past three years with a portfolio of trendsetting hazy IPAs and pastry stouts, not to mention a pair of medal wins at the Great American Beer Festival for Midwest Red IPA in 2017 and 2018. So when they hold their third anniversary festivities this Saturday, Jan. 25, you’re going to want to get there early to make sure you secure some of the five anniversary beers they’ll release in cans. Haze fans can look forward to the return of The Juggerhop triple IPA and Flat Earth double New England IPA, as well as the brand-new Hollow Earth triple New England IPA. Dark beer aficionados can grab bourbon barrel aged Hazelnut Tiramisu Underverse imperial milk stout and Where’s My Birthday Cake imperial cake stout, the latter having been brewed with three whole chocolate birthday cakes. Royal Docks Brewing is bringing a taproom favorite beer to market in cans. Downstream Jam has been a staple of the Royal Docks draft list, a gose appearing several times over the years with different fruit additions. Dark cherry is the featured flavor in this canned version, balancing the richness of the fruit with a brisk tartness imparted by lactobacillus. A dash of salt cuts through the intense flavors to make a refreshing, sessionable light sour ale. Six packs will be available on Monday, Jan. 27 starting at 4 p.m. at the Royal Docks brewpub location in North Canton. Read more at facebook.com/royaldocksbrewing

On Wednesday, Jan. 29, Moeller Brew Barn will tap a delicious new collaboration at their brewery tasting room in Maria Stein. Based in Piqua, Winans Chocolates and Coffee has been making confections in western Ohio for four generations. One of their best-selling candies is the Wurtle, a buttery, chewy caramel nut patty covered in chocolate. This popular treat inspired Moeller Brew Barn to create Winans Wurtles Nut Brown Ale, a classic beer style designed to pair perfectly with chocolate candy. Indeed, the brewery will have Winans Wurtles and Brew Barn Brittle – the latter made with beer from Moeller – on hand at the tapping event to enjoy alongside the new brew. Fretboard Brewing’s inaugural ‘Nati Dread Day is Saturday, Jan. 25, a celebration of the brewery’s Reggae Series of bourbon barrel aged stouts. The quarterly produced beers were instant hits, each selling out swiftly upon their releases in 2019. For this weekend’s event, Fretboard will re-release all four beers: ‘Nati Dread (brewed with Maverick chocolate and toasted coconut), Leggo Beast (maple syrup and coffee), Cool Meditation (chocolate and peanut butter) and Cliftone Cookie Jar (chocolate and graham cracker). WEST CENTRAL

Brewing is tricky business, even for highly-skilled and experienced brewers who make beer every single day. Sometimes things just don’t work out and the finished product isn’t what you expected. The craft brewing industry was built on a commitment to quality above all else, and sometimes that means making a humbling but necessary decision to ensure that customers taste only the very best. Yellow Springs Brewery had to make that tough choice twice with Foggy Trail New England IPA over the past few months: the batches did not exactly match the flavor profile of previous releases and were instead sold under a different name.  The third time was the charm though, and Yellow Springs will release Foggy Trail in cans at their taproom at noon this Saturday, Jan. 25 with distribution in the Dayton area to follow next week. Cheers to Yellow Springs Brewery for always keeping their customers’ satisfaction as their top priority! Read more at facebook.com/yellowspringsbrewery
