GREATER CLEVELAND

The chill of late fall has descended on Ohio, which means at least one good thing to craft beer enthusiasts: stout season is upon us! On Sunday, Nov. 10, Saucy Brew Works will pull beers up from the cellar for their inaugural Barrel Aged Brunch. The Ohio City taproom doors open at 9 a.m. for a special brunch menu designed to complement the four barrel aged stouts on tap. Get the full beer and food lineup at facebook.com/saucybrewworks

On Saturday, the “Up Top” taproom will host a small batch sour tap takeover and glass giveaway starting at noon, followed by the tapping of a gin barrel aged Belgian Tripel at 3 p.m. Down Low. Veteran’s Day is Monday, Nov. 11 – this year marks the 101st anniversary of the armistice that ended World War I – and Upside Brewing is honoring those who put their lives on the line to serve America. Veterans and active military personnel will receive a discount on pints of Full Salute IPA while it is on tap at the Sylvania brewpub. Upside will also donate a portion of proceeds on Tuesdays in November to HOOVES, a non-profit horse therapy program for veterans. Details at facebook.com/upsidebrewing

Ho, Ho, Homestead? ‘Tis the season for the release of Tannenbaum, Homestead Beer Company’s spiced winter ale. This annual favorite packs an impressive amount of ginger into the recipe to complement the complex, sweet malt character. A bouquet of traditional mulling spices and mild bittering hops bring a drinkable balance to this 7.3% ABV winter warmer. Available on draft at Homestead’s Heath taproom and in bottles soon at select retailers. Details at facebook.com/homesteadbeerco

WEST CENTRAL

It has proven to be quite the winding road for the past few years, but the Wandering Griffin has finally arrived. The craft-focused pub-turned-brewery in Beavercreek will release their initial seven brews to the public on Saturday, Nov. 9. While the Wandering Griffin has not yet released the beer list as of the time of this publishing, they were soliciting crowdsourced names for a milk stout earlier this week, so that seems a safe bet to make the menu. Get your Ohio On Tap passport stamp starting at noon on Saturday. Event details at facebook.com/wanderingg
