Columbus Brewing Company has released a few collaboration brews this year with breweries all over the state, including Rhinegeist, Fat Head’s, DankHouse, Wooly Pig and CLAG Brewing. Their most recent collaborators didn’t have to travel very far, as neighbor breweries Sideswipe and Wolf’s Ridge each made the less than two mile trek to brew Block Party, a worldly pilsner featuring Italian-grown malt and hops from Germany and New Zealand. Grab a pint at the Columbus Brewing Company and Sideswipe taprooms on the west side or at the Wolf’s Ridge brewpub in downtown Columbus. Details at facebook.com/sideswipebrewing

The 2022 U.S. Open Beer Championship winners were announced this week, and 35 Ohio breweries combined to earn a total of 56 medals out of more than 9,000 entered beers. One of those winners was the brand new Mosaic And… IPA from Sibling Revelry Brewing, the first beer in a series that pairs the popular Mosaic hop with another hop variety that accentuates or complements Mosaic’s earthy and berry-like qualities. The medal winning Citra hop version will be available in cans this week at Sibling Revelry’s Westlake taproom and in their distribution footprint soon as well. Cheers to a year of beer from 60cc Brewing! The two-wheeler themed brewery will celebrate their anniversary starting this Friday at their taproom in Toledo. New on tap for this weekend is Hazy Days, a hazy IPA developed by loyal 60cc patron Ryan Bick. Stop by the taproom, enjoy some eats from the visiting food trucks, knock back a couple pints and give some pets to Half Pint, 60cc’s lovable canine mascot. More details at facebook.com/60ccbrewing

Cheers to 15 years of beers from Weasel Boy Brewing! Owner/brewers Lori and Jay Wince set up shop in Zanesville when there were only a couple dozen independently-owned breweries in the state, a far cry from the more than 400 we have now. Despite the growth of the industry and its ever-changing trends, they never lost focus on what they wanted their brewery to be: a place where people socialize while drinking honest, true-to-style beer. Weasel Boy fans can enjoy a few surprises from the brewery’s barrel-aging cellar on tap this weekend alongside a list of tried-and-true taproom favorites. On a random visit to Sonder Brewing in 2019, Tim Bryson – @TheIPAWay on Instagram – sparked a friendship with brewery owner Justin Neff that led to the two working together to host Invited to the Cookout, a community event and beer release happening this Sunday, July 17 at Sonder’s taproom in Mason. Bryson and longtime friend Courtney Tucker of Lemon Milk Digital Marketing teamed up to make Invited to the Cookout a reality: an outreach event to introduce people to craft beer in a laid-back, fun and inclusive environment. For the event, Sonder brewed an approachable, easy-drinking tangerine wheat beer, perfect for knocking back while kicking back. A portion of the beer’s sales will be donated to Treehouse Cincinnati. Invited to the Cookout runs from 3-6 p.m. this Sunday. Learn more about the event and its hosts at sonderbrewing.com/invited-to-the-cookout

Hot summer days demand two things: a nice, big patio and a cold, refreshing craft beer. Lucky for all of us, Eudora Brewing Company has both. The brewery’s expansive beer garden is one of its big draws, and was recently featured as “Patio of the Week” by the Dayton Daily News. Eudora has a couple of new fruit-forward brews designed to help you beat the heat this summer: Tree Shaker, a golden peach ale poured on a nitro faucet to give a distinct peaches and cream experience, and Tahitian Tryst, a kettle sour bursting with mango, guava and passionfruit. Pull up a patio chair with your freshly poured fruit ale at Eudora’s taproom in Kettering. More details at facebook.com/eudorabrewingcompany
