Cheers to central Ohio’s newest craft brewery, Antiques On High, the new sour and wild fermentation brewery from Seventh Son Brewing! The lavishly refurbished space (on the site of a former antique mall, hence the name) held their grand opening on Monday, Nov. 19 with seven sour beers on tap. Today is “Black Friday,” which sounds like it should be all about dark beers, don’t you think? Zaftig Brewing does and they’re holding a special Black Friday sale at their Worthington taproom. Bottles of Bourbon Barrel Aged Big Barleywine go on sale at noon; vintage bottles of Zaftig Bourbon Stout, Bourbon Barrel Aged Nuttn’ 2it Pecan Brown Ale and variations of Ol’ Rugger Russian Imperial Stout will be made available every hour, on the hour thereafter. Kindred Brewing is releasing a series of holiday porters at their taproom in Gahanna. Tickets for the 13th Annual Winter Warmer Fest are on sale now! Cleveland’s favorite craft beer festival is returning to Windows on the River on Saturday, March 9. More than 50 Ohio craft breweries will be on hand pouring their winter seasonals, rare brews and fan favorites. The first 100 early admission tickets purchased today will receive a $10 discount. Platform Beer Co. is releasing two new beers today for Black Friday. Musa is a bananas-and-cream milkshake-style IPA clocking in at 7.7% ABV. EMO is a 10% ABV barrel-aged, s’mores-inspired, imperial stout that is a special release for Platform’s Can Collective members. If you’re looking for a holiday beer that will really make your reindeer fly, you’re in luck. Fat Head’s Brewery will tap Pimp My Sleigh, their Belgian-style Christmas Ale, at all three locations (Middleburg Heights, North Olmsted and Canton) at 4 p.m. today. Drop Tine Winery and Tap House released their new winter seasonal beer, Polar Express, earlier this week. This hearty amber ale is brewed with cinnamon sticks, diced ginger root and allspice. Try a mug of Polar Express rimmed with sugar, cinnamon and crushed candy cane at their brewpub in Montpelier.

This Thanksgiving, Flatrock Brewery released a cornucopia of new beers. General Scott Amber Ale – named for Robert Kingston Scott, the real estate magnate-turned-Civil War general-turned-South Carolina governor-turned morphine addict who killed his son’s best friend – made its debut at the downtown Napoleon brewpub, along with maple and cherry variants. Disgruntled Pumpkin Amber was also tapped for the first time, as well as Putnam Grapefruit IPA, a Simcoe and Cascade hop-forward brew juiced up with an infusion of fresh grapefruit. Trek Brewing Company will celebrate their grand opening today, starting with an official ribbon cutting ceremony at 3:30 p.m. After opening their doors back in March and installing a 15-barrel brewhouse just a few months ago, Trek has a full complement of house-made beers on tap and they’re ready to share them with craft beer fans from near and far. Maple Lawn Brewery has a great beer to pair with your Thanksgiving leftovers. This week, they tapped their new Cranberry Sour, a barrel aged wheat beer fermented with Brettanomyces yeast for a tart, funky finish. Get it on draft at the taproom in Pomeroy while supplies last.

If your Black Friday shopping plans don’t include Listermann Brewing and Brink Brewing, you might want to reassess your priorities as a craft beer fan. Listermann’s bottle release starts at 9 a.m. and includes eight beers, some of which are extremely limited in number. Brink’s Black Friday sale starts at 10 a.m. and features bombers of 2018 Armored Heart Russian Imperial Stout with coffee, vanilla, chocolate, cinnamon and orange zest, plus six more new beers on draft. Hopefully, by the time you read this, you’re already in line…

Fans of the blues will want to get down to the Christian Moerlein Malt House taproom in Over-the-Rhine on Saturday, Nov. 24. The brewery will host three great blues guitarists and are pairing new beers to go along with each: Hop Pants hoppy brown ale, Bluesberry hazy IPA, and Jumping Coconut Stout. Streetside Brewery and Pretentious Barrel House released a collaboration sour this week called An Hour 45 Each Way, named for the drive time between Streetside in Columbia-Tusculum and Pretentious on Columbus’ east side. The first of the “Barrel Buddies” series, this sour beer was aged on ripe nectarines. Available at both brewery taprooms for a limited time.

The Dayton Beer Company is releasing six-packs of their winter seasonal, Soggy Crumbs, today at their downtown taproom.
