Ohio Brewery News
It’s pretty well documented that Ohio does the spiced Christmas ale/winter warmer thing right – dare we say *better* than other states? – so why should we have to wait until the air gets chilly before we can enjoy those familiar notes of honey and spice? Lucky for us, the “Christmas in July” releases from Ohio breweries are almost as anticipated and celebrated as the traditional late fall tappings.
This Sunday, July 24, Maumee Bay Brewing Company will tap a limited run of Blitzen, their long-running winter warmer brewed with cinnamon, orange and honey. It’s not just a tapping, but an summertime extravaganza complete with live music, an outdoor grill, a craft vendor fair and more. And just in case winter beers in the summer isn’t your thing, Maumee Bay will have plenty of crisp, refreshing, warm weather beer options pouring alongside the Blitzen.
The Blitzen in July party runs from noon-6 p.m. this Sunday at Maumee Bay’s outdoor Growler Park next to the taproom in downtown Toledo. Get all the details at facebook.com/mbaybrew
